After the recent busy week of the UK Fireball Nationals held at Penzance last week, the club was full of the regular old faces and some new ones, as the home races kicked off again.
Over the last week, we have been proud to host the UK Fireball Class for the Gul Fireball Nationals 2018.
After a successful yet tricky week on the water, the final results have now been published.
The weather was perfect on Saturday for the 2018 club regatta.
Thanks again to all who made the day possible on the safety boats and also to Brian and Liz who did great work in the race office with help from Adrian, Theresa (and Dave) put in the long hours in the galley and BBQ, and Colin who was everywhere from Courselayer to Deepsea to bar.
14 boats launched this evening into a serious breeze! In the Enterprise fleet, Tom Kliskey led from start to finish, lapping Colin Stephens and Laura Kickers, who were having an uncompetitive fun sail.
The competitors arriving at Penzance Sailing Club’s annual Enterprise Open were greeted by fine sunny weather, flat seas, and a little more than the NE F3-4 forecast. It was a small but friendly gathering, where two Looe boats joined with the five Penzance boats.
The 2018 Allen Enterprise Inland Championship was held at Blithfield Sailing Club over the weekend of 14/15 April. In addition to being the Inland Championship, this event also kicked off the 2018 National Circuit series.
The Enterprise Class held its National Championship this year at Abersoch, hosted by South Caernarvonshire Yacht Club, from 6th to 11th August, writes Phil Bevan.
6 members of Penzance sailing club entered the World Mirror Championship being held at Restrouguet sailing Club.
They were lead by the mirror fleet captain Eric Taylor and his crew Aoife Mooney, Lloyd Williams crew Demelza Hewitt, and finally Sebi Schmidt crew Rosin Mooney.
A cracking day on the water today for the club open meeting.
Ben Flowers won the Standard Laser and Alice Woodings the Laser Radial.
The Enterprise fleet was won by Colin Stephens and Simon Lees.
Lloyd Williams and Demelza Hewitt won the Mirror class.
